Chemical reactions vary from one element to another. You will say in your mind ‘oh well, I do not go around chemicals’, but some of the body creams you buy on Instagram Nigeria are chemicals mixed together. But we all are not ready for this conversation yet. The paint in your house, at your office and every space you enter…chemicals. I am not saying you should stop using the creams or stop painting your spaces but handle your handbags properly when around these known and unknown chemicals. After using your creams, wash your hands. Do not dump your bags just on a surface that is just painted. These little acts help a lot in getting the best out of your bags.

It’s rainy season already and most ladies who go out with their leather bags must have been caught in rain at least once or  twice before. Hence, the need to note how to take care of your bag this rainy season. That you have a good leather bag does not mean you should not take good care of the bags. I am even of the opinion that, that is when you should take care of it better.

Here are a few way to take care of your bags this rainy season:

1. Get a bag cover for your bags. The same way you have an umbrella ready for you in one corner of your car is the same way you should save this bag covers for rainy periods when you need to step out. The fun truth is, even the bag cover makes you look cute and more organized LOL. 2.  2. If you are caught up in rain or some drizzles, make sure when you finally get home, you dry the bags properly. DO NOT say because its been hours, everything is fine with the bags. NO! Dry your bags inside out. Bring all the stuff in it out and dry it inside out.

This is to ensure the handbag you want to pay fits into your expectations. Do not just use images uploaded by the seller to judge. A lot of times, there are color and size disparities because the edited images of these bags cannot be compared with what is seen live.

2. Ensure to see live photos or video of the said item
There are a lot of vendors who upload live photos and videos of items they put on sale, I think you should feel free to stick to these vendors because this means what you see is actually what you will get. You can also request for the live images and videos from your vendor.

3. That it looks big in the displayed image doesn’t mean the bag is big
This has been a serious issue. When buying online, it is advisable to read the description of the item properly instead of judging with the image. This can cause wahala because most mini bags don’t look small in photos. Images of bags are usually big because the manufacturers want you to see all the features so they make it bigger.

4. If the price is too good to be true, it means you are most likely to get a bad bag, a substandard bag or they are scam. Nobody sells a big bag for N2500 my darling. With the way dollar rate keeps going up, you should be weary of vendors who want to sell to you below factory prices. LOL, where dem wan see am? So, before you go on with that transaction, think about it. Your quest for the best deal might land you into regrets.

Here are 3 things you do that make your leather bags go bad easily:

1. Not stuffing it up when storing it

Every lady has where they put their bags at the end of every day’s activities. Most ladies just dump them on their tables in their living rooms (I fall into that category even though I have a massive bag rack in my room…so you are not alone😊)

The correct way to actually store your bags, is by making it sit properly on a surface, in a cool area, like a wardrobe, with stuff in it to keep its shape. Do not squeeze it in-between other things. Do not over-stuff it also when carrying it around. Never hang your bags, that’s a no no. The handles will go weak after a while and it finally gives way.

2. Throwing your dust bags away

Years ago, when I buy my bags, one of the first things I do is to dispose the dust bag. I mean, the paper-like bag that is used to wrap the original bag that you paid for, after which a nylon is used to cover it up. Yes, that bag! Stop throwing them away. Dust bags help you keep your bags away from dusts and other unwanted moistures that could discolor your precious bag.

Stop throwing your dust bags away. If you buy a quality bag, it will definitely come with a dust bag. Watch out for it when buying your next bag. 😁 You can also ask your vendor not to forget to add the dust bag that came with the bag.

3. Using only one bag for a long time

Bag rotation is key. You can’t keep using just one bag and expect it to last forever. Sister, it will wear out. ‘The bag will tire’ 😂😂 You might not have a lot of bags but endeavor to always rotate the few bags that you have, so it can allow them rest at intervals. Yes, even leather bags need to rest.

TIP OF THE DAY: soft baby wipes can actually help with cleaning of your bags instead of using your dirty rag with water 😁😁😁 STOP IT.
